First Draft
Food Fight of the day
Today was a typical monday sunny afternoon, me and my parents, who are buffalos were just going for a walk in the dry grassland of the savannah. We were just hunting for food because I was hungry. We were walking peacefully looking around the river banks until my dad told me and my mom to stay put, we asked him why and he said ‘Well I think we're being targeted right now’.  As my dad was looking for something. I could see a lion's head, I thought I was hallucinating but I wasn’t!  I saw my dad’s eyes grow, ‘Lions Run!’He shouted.

I could hear faint screeching noises of the lions telling them to chase after us. I could smell danger lying ahead.  My parents ran without me by their side thinking I was, but as soon as I ran I could see the lions chasing one thing, ME!  I wasn’t as fast as my parents so i was pretty slow for a calf. I could see desire in their eyes as they chased me, licking their long looking filthy tongues at my rich meat. Wham! I got knocked into the river I was next to. I tasted something I never tasted before, blood! I felt Like a chicken running away from death.  Swimming up I could feel 2 fluffy and soft  hands helping me up, I thought it was my parents, but no it was something that was going to be my nightmare for a while.

As I walked back to my parents I felt joy and relieved that I was alive, I had a few scratches but other than that I was perfectly fine.  I remembered the look on the lions as they saw my parents heard coming up to them coming to get me back. I smiled at that thought. I had learned my lesson, never go into the wild areas of the savanna with a calf.

Life For Women in WW1

W.A.L.T describe what life was like for men and women in WW1 through a diary entry.

29th May 1916

Everyday and every night has been tough. picking fruits, sewing clothes and working in factories is tough.  Everyday I miss my my dad and brother Shiva who are fighting for their lives, for our country.  At night I always imagine that Shiva and my dad are here safe and sound in bed, which helps me go to sleep.

Every dreadful morning I’m pretty anxious about the terrifying death telegraph for them both, which makes me very tense and empty in my heart.

My friends Millie, Julie, Jessica and Cadenza have also been great help at the farm.

Mum has barely came out of the house, which is understandable because of war and dad and Shiva gone.  Shiva has been sending letters to me which makes my day, knowing he’s ok still kicking with dad.

Yesterday I had found out that Cadenza’s Brother, Carlos has been injured and almost killed by gas, which is terrifying for her and her mother.

I have to go to bed now,  tomorrow i’m signing up as a nurse, I just hope mum can handle the farm alone, if not then my friends will help her like always.
