MeMe & Me

I think the story is about Nina and her meme, she had bought a new phone so she wouldn’t be the last person to have a phone in her class. When she had the phone she had taken a photo of her fishtail braid and posted it on the internet, her friend Cass had replied how she had added a filter when she hadn’t, she then had a text message from herself. She was confused why and looked at the text message which explained who the text was from, the text was from someone named MeMe. MeMe looked exactly like Nina which was a little creepy but they had started talking to each other and became friends. After a few weeks of talking they started calling each other. As friends they always put each other in a good mood, one day when they were talking Nina’s phone died and she had to wait for her phone to charge, that's when Nina saw MeMe’s real self.

MeMe had gotten angry with Nina for not talking to her and started telling Nina that she was a bad friend and other things that made her feel sad and lonely. Nina then had a dream that she was trapped in her phone and MeMe was playing as her, she then woke up and cut her hair so she wouldn’t have MeMe look like her. She also broke her sim card and bought a new one so MeMe wouldn’t find her again, she made a friend named Ruby who had to share her phone with her siblings.

Message: Don’t talk to strangers because they could be stalkers or hackers.

Reading - SoFi the Robotic Fish

This week for reading we were learning about a robotic fish named SoFi, our task was to write three things we learned about SoFi. I never knew that a robotic fish was alive so it was all kind of new to me. 

-First of all I learned that there was a robotic fish named SoFi that was made by scientists who wanted to learn about wildlife. 

-SoFi is partly 3D printed and weighs only 3.5 kilo, that's about the size of a small fish 

- SoFi has to be controlled in water near Sofi so then the signals can tell SoFi to move.

Reading - The great Barrier Reef

This week for reading we were reading about the Great Barrier Reef. Our task was to write three things we learned about the reef that we didn't know about. I haven't really done anything about the great barrier reef so it was all kind of new to me. 

#1. I learnt that the great barrier reef is approximately 500,000 years old

#2 The great barrier reef has about 1,500 different and living species in it.

#3 I learnt that climate change could be a huge part of the reef slowly destroying.

Reading

This week for reading Miss Birch asked us to create a Screencastify about our reading. we were asked to choose a topic from our reading which was about earthquakes. I did mine about the cause of earthquakes because it seemed like a challenge.

Reading - Astrobiology, Finding Extraterresial Life

Return of the Moa

This week for reading we were asked to read a article called "Return Of The Moa." The article is about how

scientists are working to bring back moa's in New Zealand by using DNA, genetics and bones to bring it back.

we were told to write a Persuasive response saying if it was good or bad idea to bring the moa back. We were given this quote to talk about the response with.

be a huge venture. It would take a large team of scientists and cost a

lot of money. There would also be no guarantee of success – and many

embryos and even live chicks would die during the process.”

My Response

I Personally think it is a bad Idea to bring the Moa back from Extinction because it would cost too much

just to bring back an embryo and a female Moa. If we did bring back the Moa what would be the

chances that it would be exactly the same. We would have to get the dna from a close relative of the

moa which means if we did bring back the Moa it wouldn’t be a moa, it would be a hybrid with Moa

DNA. I think it is also bad because we are spending so much just to create a extinct bird which could

fail, What if something goes wrong and they end up creating a mutant animal. It would go down history

but Moa’s have already been in history. Kids these days wouldn’t care that much unless if it was for a

project or they were learning about it. By creating embryos Moa have a 50/50 chance of living, it would

 be quite a while and a lot of chicks that would have to die just so then one of the embryos could live.

More Reading

This week for Reading I finished two more pieces of work. I have written a review about 'The Mermaid, The Manticore and Me.' It does have some spoilers to beware. I also did a Character Description on my other story 'The Goldens Scarab's Secret.'

Unnatural Creatures - The Mermaid, The Manticore and Me Review

Out of all the stories in Unnatural Creatures my favourite story is ‘The Mermaid, The Manticore and Me.’ The story is about the narrator and her friend Mathew whose mother works at a museum. Some interesting thing happens and supernatural creatures come alive.

I love the part where the narrator has a dream about the mermaid and puts her in a tub. I love the story because it has danger and a good plot.

I would like to know who the narrator is because she seems like someone who would seem crazy but their not.

I like how the characters have real reactions and how you wouldn’t expect the ending  coming. With the story you can always imagine new endings and outcomes. I honestly love how the story begins and ends.

The story is very unique with the fact there is a manticore that was one human.

Pyramid Of Giza

As part of one of my reading tasks I was asked to research something from my book and post it on my blog I chose the Pyramid of Giza. This is my research that I found and made into a slideshow.

The Library

This week 7ld had a visit to the school's library. we were asked to choose a book that was chapter length and in our choice. I had chose a book called Earth Fall. Earth fall is made by the author Mark Walden. Earth fall was about a boy named Sam who had just survived a invasion by something called the VoidBorn, who were aliens. His father, Daniel Shaw or Andrew Riley used to work for the company to take over the world before he found out what was happening. Daniel implanted a device into Sam's brain to make sure that he couldn't become a Sleeper. A sleeper was a human being that the VoidBorn had put to sleep when they were taking over the world. I haven't quite finished the book but I have enjoyed it this far. The length of the book is about 346 pages long.  Here is the book title and the author

 
Overall I think this book is very interesting and I hope to read more of this books series. I recommend this for people who love action and chapter books. I hope you enjoy looking at this book and this post. Feel free to comment on what you think about this book.

Newslea Reading!

These past two weeks for reading 7LD have been reading off this site called Newslea. Newslea is a reading website that everyone can use for free. For Newslea the articles I read was ‘What makes a planet Habitable’ and ‘The History of Earth Day’. While reading we had to do a quiz, we had 4 questions to answer relating to the article. I got 3 questions for the Habitable planet and for the Earth Day I had 0 out of 4. There is also a write feature which you just write what the teacher had assigned to you. One of my friends had 4 out of 4, we were both surprised at her score. Here are some photos on Newslea and my score.
