Statistics - Bar Graphs

Today Miss Birtch asked us to make a graph on a spreadsheet as we always make them on paper. we were asked to make it about Dragonistics Statistics cards, we were able to choose what we wanted it about. I chose two different things to do the graph about. These are my graphs that I have made.

Forensic Science

This term for science we have been learning about Forensic science.
Forensic science is the science used by the police and detectives all
around the world to help solve a crime.

We learnt about Locard's Exchange Principle, Fingerprints, fibres,
using Microscopes Making Hands with Cement and chromatography.

My favourite Part was making the cement hands, Mine broke but it
was still fun to make the cement. I worked with Aiden and Ruby.
I really liked it because you could actually see everything forming.
When you mixed the Plaster Of Paris and water together it forms the
cement in seconds. As I was making the cement Ruby poured in a
little too much water and it became very gooey and it didn’t form.
Mrs wheeler then put someone else's cement in ours and it formed the
right cement. I found it really fun even though mine broke afterwards,
I would do it again.

We were also asked to see what fingerprints we had. I have all loops
and no Arches or Whorls.

My Name

This week Miss Birtch gave us a task to research our names and to write down the meaning and why we were named that name. This is my research about my name 'Trisha" and my last name "Naidu"

I hope you like my weird story on how I was named.

Name's

Last week we watched a video about people's name and how people
pronounce them wrong. We were asked to write a response about what
the video was about and how we feel about it. This is my response of the video's.

1st

I think that the video is trying to tell us that many people are bi cultural and many people get their original names wrong so they have to change their names into easier ones.

2nd

I think that the video is trying to tell us to appreciate our names no matter what and how people pronounce them as.

More Reading

This week for Reading I finished two more pieces of work. I have written a review about 'The Mermaid, The Manticore and Me.' It does have some spoilers to beware. I also did a Character Description on my other story 'The Goldens Scarab's Secret.'

Unnatural Creatures - The Mermaid, The Manticore and Me Review

Out of all the stories in Unnatural Creatures my favourite story is ‘The Mermaid, The Manticore and Me.’ The story is about the narrator and her friend Mathew whose mother works at a museum. Some interesting thing happens and supernatural creatures come alive.

I love the part where the narrator has a dream about the mermaid and puts her in a tub. I love the story because it has danger and a good plot.

I would like to know who the narrator is because she seems like someone who would seem crazy but their not.

I like how the characters have real reactions and how you wouldn’t expect the ending  coming. With the story you can always imagine new endings and outcomes. I honestly love how the story begins and ends.

The story is very unique with the fact there is a manticore that was one human.

Musical!!

Today 8Bh and 8Gb were practicing our big finale song. The song we are singing is We Know The Way from the Disney movie Moana. The song has a lot of culture words in it, but we will keep on practicing until we get it right. so far I think we have done a good job so far and that we can perfect in a while. we have four more weeks to prepare for the finale and our group performances. The song that my group is doing 'This is me.' I think that we are doing a good job so far with the singing. our performance is coming along well and we just need to choreograph it and touch up our singing.
